It is planned that more than 20 units of military equipment will be received by the units of the 90th Tank Division in 2021. One of the motorized rifle battalions will receive a batch of 10 upgraded BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicles. The anti-tank division will receive more than 10 self-propelled combat vehicles “Shturm-S”.

On March 24, 2021, eight upgraded BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicles entered service with the motorized rifle battalion of the 239th Tank Regiment of the 90th Tank Division .

Unlike the models of earlier modifications, the BMP-2M has an automatic fire control system that allows the commander and gunner to act as a single unit during the day and at night. The new R-168 “Aqueduct” radio station is installed on the received infantry fighting vehicles, which is able to work steadily in the conditions of enemy electronic jamming.

The 21st motorized Rifle Brigade received ten repaired BMP-2 vehicles in September 2020 , and 15 more in December.

On December 1, 2020, a new tank regiment was deployed in the 127th Motorized Rifle Division on the basis of the 84th separate tank battalion. The commander of the regiment is Lieutenant Colonel Yuri Herzen. The regiment will most likely receive (or have already received) T-72B/B1 tanks removed from storage to equip the second and third tank battalions. The motorized rifle battalion of the regiment received in November 2020 more than a dozen BMP-2M allegedly equiped with a combat module “Berezhok”, but I have not seen photo and video materials confirming the delivery of “Berezhkov” yet.

In November 2020, several dozen (presumably 30) BTR-82AM armored personnel carriers were delivered to the newly created separate colonial “peacekeeping” battalion. Judging by the sign on the vehicles, the battalion is part of the 127th Motorized Rifle Division, although this is not accurate. It is noteworthy that the military peacekeepers in the Primorsky region learn Turkish, and not Chinese or Korean.

Afterword

General delivery plans for 2021 have been announced.

By the end of this year, more than 800 units of armored vehicles are planned to be delivered to the formations and military units of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The troops will receive more than 90 modern T-72B3, T-72B3M tanks, about 80 T-80BVM units, with a gas turbine power plant, a batch of T-90M “Breakthrough” tanks. In addition, more than 120 BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, more than 280 upgraded BMP-2s with the “Berezhok” combat compartment, as well as about 300 BTR-82A and BTR-82AM armored personnel carriers will be delivered to the formations and military units.

The newspaper “Krasnaya Zvezda” published an interview with the Deputy Commander of the Airborne Troops, Major General Anatoly KONTSEV. Among other things, the General said that in this (2021) year, according to the State Defense Ministry, the delivery of two sets of BMD-4M combat vehicles to the troops is planned. Thus, the number of amphibious assault (parachute) battalions in the troops equipped with BMD-4M will increase to 12.

More than 35 Tornado-G MLRS and self-propelled howitzers with the Msta-SM automated fire control system will be delivered to the missile and artillery units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2021.

The troops will receive about twenty self-propelled guns 2S35 “Coalition-SV”.

The prospects for the supply of new T-14 Armata tanks , T-15 Barberry and Kurganets-25 infantry fighting vehicles, K-16/K-17 Boomerang armored personnel carriers and 2S38 ZAK-57 Derivation-Air Defense self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery systems to the troops in 2021 are completely unclear.

A story about the progress of factory tests of a promising infantry fighting vehicle “Kurganets-25” was covered in the report of the magazine “Popular Mechanics».
