Senator Ted Cruz verbally shut down a reporter Wednesday who freaked out about him not wearing a mask while talking to the press about an upcoming trip to the Southern border.
A reporter was heard asking “do you mind putting on a mask,” to which Cruz responded “Yeah, when I’m talking to the TV camera, I’m not going to wear a mask.”
“All of us have been immunized,” Cruz further noted, referring to his entourage.
After the Karen reporter claimed it would make everyone ‘feel better’ if he wore a mask, Cruz said “You’re welcome to step away if you’d like,” and then pointed out that being able to ditch the mask is “The whole point of a vaccine.” Cruz added that “CDC guidance is what we’re following.”

Along with Cruz, Senator Rand Paul has been outspoken on the ‘theater’ of face masks.
Earlier this week, Paul recounted a run-in with a mask Karen at the gym who demanded he should be wearing a face covering while running on a treadmill.
Cruz’ and Paul’s stance is in sharp contrast to the likes of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, who continue to struggle to breathe and are barely decipherable as they wear two masks at a time.
